Former Tour du Rwanda winner and Rwanda national team rider Bosco Nsengimana took victory today’s prologue beating by six seconds his own record, as the fastest rider in the Tour du Rwanda prologue history.
He clocked a time of 3min 46sec on the 3.3km course in Kigali, 2 seconds faster than reigning champion Valens Ndayisenga while Stephan De Bod of Dimension Data for Qhubeka finished third, six seconds slower.
"I am feeling very good and I am really happy to win today, I worked very hard to win today but for me the tour is starting tomorrow."
Nsengimana also became the joint most successful in the prologue with two wins to his name, a record he shares with Hadi Janvier.After winning the prologue in 2015,Bosco went on to win the Tour du Rwanda.

Tomorrow’s stage 1 takes the peloton from Kigali to Huye. A field sprint is expected after a 120.3km ride.
